Put an end to After-Party Pongs!
We've all experienced the repercussions of an event. Maybe you've woken up on someone's floor, having slept face down in spilt beer with a cheese puff stuck to your forehead. Maybe you thought it would be clever to host the party in your own home and now you're left with the mess! I've no idea. All I know is you can't go wrong with the following quick tips on how to eradicate bad smells in a room after a gathering.
DID YOU KNOW? Vinegar contains acid that cuts through the resins and tar left behind from cigarette smoke.
Suggestion 1
Spraying your favourite air freshener will give instant relief from bad odours but it may not last. Try investing in Febreze as it will have a longer lasting effect on carpets and upholsteries because it tackles and eliminates the source of a smell instead of covering it up. Scented candles will do the trick as well and have a relaxing effect!
Suggestion 2
This one's easy & you can leave it to do its thing whilst you go shopping!
Fill a few cereal bowls with boiling water, leaving enough room to add a few tablespoons of white vinegar to each. Distribute these around the room, next to furniture etc. shut the room door and leave for a few hours if poss. The steam from the substance will penetrate everything in the room and absorb the bad odour. Magic!
Suggestion 3
If you're stuck indoors with nothing to do this one's for you!
Leaving windows open for long periods of time will give the house a chance to vent and it's the easiest thing to do! So sit back and enjoy the fresh air!
Suggestion 4
This one's for all you organic lovers out there. No modern day chemicals required!
Apples and coffee grounds have the amazing ability of absorbing the smell of smoke. So if your prefer apples, throw some in a bowl and leave in the corner of the room. Or if you're hot on coffee, leave some granules in a few discrete places and you'll enjoy a different kind of caffeine kick!
Suggestion 5
If you prefer the good old fashioned remedies look no further!
Baking soda can absorb odour and moisture if used in the right way. And this one's easy! Simply sprinkle on carpets and upholsteries, carry on with life as usual for a few days, and then vacuum out. Done!
Just remember, lots of mess is normally the result of a successful party! If you're hosting an event, be prepared for the inevitable chaos that follows!
