We finally got round to taking the kids to the cinema to see Disney’s new offering Brave at the weekend. What a great film! The kids and adults alike were completely engrossed by Merida’s wonderful coming of age tale set in the highlands of Scotland.
Thankfully (though sadly unusually for the movies) the producers have relied on a mainly home grown cast of voice actors, so the Scottish accents are genuine rather than those awful Hollywood approximations that threaten to completely distract me from the storyline the faux “Och, hoots mon!” lingo.
If you haven’t yet made it to see this wee animated wonder, we’d definitely recommend it for a a rainy day activity. Perhaps as a back to school treat this weekend? If your kids like it half as much as ours did, you’re sure to be onto a winner.
