French cinema fans said bonjour to the webbed wonder this week when The Amazing Spiderman’s publicity wagon hit Paris on Tuesday. The film’s stars gathered on the red carpet in their finery and lead actress Emma Stone seemed to have made an extra effort to look tres chic for the occasion.
Stone, who plays Peter Parker’s first love Gwen Stacy in the upcoming film reboot of the Spiderman franchise, opted for some gothic glamour for the French premiere and was photographed in a beautiful black floor length Gucci gown. Her real life love interest didn’t let the side down either, as Brit actor Andrew Garfield joined his on and off-screen girlfriend on the red carpet in a smart red Balenciaga suit.
Fans are champing at the bit to see how Garfield’s Spiderman translates to the big screen, and there’s a lot of expectation weighing heavily on the 28 year old’s shoulders. It remains to be seen whether the movie world will agree that he can fill out the Spiderman suit only relatively recently vacated by Toby Maguire, but by the looks of the trailer he should have it in the bag.
