Most nearly 70 year olds with a long and successful career behind them are well into enjoying the slower pace of retirement as their big birthday looms on the horizon. Not one Mr P McCartney though. The former Beatle is about to hit the big 7-0 in just ten days but is showing no signs of wishing to slow down.
Far from it in fact, the veteran rocker is having one of his busiest summers for many years. Fresh from a highly successful stint bringing the spectacular Jubilee concert to an end this weekend, it’s now been announced that Macca is also going to once again put his many years of experience to good use by closing the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.
Obviously regarded by the big events organisers as the dream combination of both a huge worldwide star attraction and a safe pair of hands, McCartney certainly isn’t resting on his laurels these days. In addition to continued success in his professional life, it also looks as if Paul is enjoying a rather golden era in his personal life also since he tied the knot with his his lady love Nancy Shevell in a star studded wedding ceremony last October.
